How to Perform This Exericse:

1) Begin in the standing position, with your feet together and your elbows tucked in to your sides.  Holding a 45 plate in each hand, pull your arms up without bending at the elbows as if trying to touch your ears with your shoulders.

2) Hold the contractions at the top of the motion for a moment while keeping your head slightly forward.

3) Slowly return to the starting position

Notes: You should NOT: use your legs to drive the weight up, overly bend your arms, or keep your head straight up.  If anything, your chin should tuck into your chest.
